Announced right before its official launch, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet‘s Indigo Disk DLC introduces a new method for players to interact with their favorite characters from the game through the Blueberry Academy League Club.

A total of 23 characters from the game can be invited to the League Club as special coaches as of this writing, although only the 8 Paldea Gym Leaders can be invited at the start. Players can invite up to 2 different characters to the League Club at any one time by paying 200 BP each at the computer terminal. The invited character will stay for a short period of time before leaving, and they can have special conversations with one another.

In order to unlock additional characters to invite, players will need to battle and trade Pokemon with the characters they have currently unlocked. In the case of the Academy Teachers, players will also need to befriend them by completing all of their classes. In addition, players can also unlock Nemona, Arven, and Penny as coaches, although this will require beating the DLC’s Epilogue story Mochi Mayhem.

A character will trade Pokemon with the player after they have been invited and spoken to 3 times. As an additional tip, the League Club’s Elite 4 can also be battled and traded with, and this will count towards the unlock requirements for other characters. The Elite 4 members in the clubroom will rotate from time to time. Carmine and Kieran will also be added to this rotation after beating the DLC Epilogue Story Mochi Mayhem.
