Two weeks back, developer Pocket Pair released Palworld, a monster taming survival crafting game that quickly drew attention due to its creature designs having strong similarity to existing Pokemon.

Despite the controversy, the game quickly drew massive sales and attention online. Pocket Pair has now announced that the game has crossed 19 million sales since release, 12 million on Steam Early Access and 7 Million on Xbox Game Pass. This is an astonishing milestone, and if accurate, means that Palworld now rivals Pokemon in sales numbers. For comparison, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet amassed 18.2 million within its first three weeks on the market according to Nintendo’s published data.

This achievement comes shortly after The Pokemon Company put out an official statement about the game, where they claimed to be “investigating” and would take “appropriate measures” to deal with any infringement on Pokemon‘s Intellectual Property. At the time of this writing however, there has been no word of any action taken on the part of The Pokemon Company or Nintendo.
