SEGA has annoucnced a prequel animation for the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations.

The animation will be titled “Dark Beginnings”, and will “shed more light” on Shadow’s origins. A sneak preview will be shown during a panel at the upcoming Anime Expo on July 6th 2024. The panel will feature Sonic Team creative officer Takashi Iizuka, Shadow’s voice actor Kirk Thornton, as well as Stephanie Sheh, who will voice Maria Robotnik.
