Nintendo is no stranger to having their announcements leaked ahead of time, but a new report has shed light on one of the sources responsible.

404Media has published a massive expose about a number of privacy and security issues that happened at the tech giant Google. It comes via a leaked copy of an internal Google database documenting incidents that occurred between 2013 and 2018. The documented issues vary wildly in scope and nature, but one of them is about Nintendo in particular.

According to the document, a Google employee was responsible for leaking several of Nintendo’s announcements by accessing the company’s private videos on Youtube, which is operated by Google. The leaked document claims that an “internal review” determined that the employee’s actions were “non-intentional”, although it is unclear how that could have been the case.
