Rumor: Various Unannounced Pokemon Anime Projects And Plans Leaked Online

Earlier this week, Game Freak was hit by a massive data breach revealing information about several upcoming Pokemon projects.

Among the leaked info were details about several Pokemon Anime projects and plans that have yet to be officially announced. This includes a brand new Pokemon anime, a Pokemon movie that was previously planned for 2024, as well as future events coming in Pokemon Horizons. Unannounced Anime Project

  • Codename: Reload
  • All-ages anime co-produced with Twin Engine (affiliated with Studio Colorido)
  • 12 episodes, approximately 21 minutes each
  • Planned for streaming platforms (Netflix, Amazon Prime) and theatrical release in Japan
  • Episodes to be released in 4 groups of 3
  • Originally planned for 2023 release, current status unknown

Pokemon Anime Movie 24

  • Codename: Bauer
  • In development since at least 2021
  • Originally planned for 2023 release
  • Intended as a reboot of the movie universe to attract adult audiences
  • Set in modern Kanto, featuring Mew as the main Mythical Pokémon
  • New protagonists: Light (male) and Akari (female)
  • Themes include modern societal issues like cyberbullying and suicide
  • Directed by Kobun Shizuno (Detective Conan)
  • Current status unclear
  • The leak also mentions a new Pokémon called “Aperon”.

Pokemon Horizons Plans

  • Pokemon Horizons was planned to end in 2025, project was worked on alongside Reload and Movie 24
  • A two timeskip was planned to occur after the six heroes were found
  • Characters would “grow” after the timeskip
