A new rumor has surfaced about another classic Sonic game that could be receiving a remake.

This rumor comes from Mike Fischer, a former VP of entertainment marketing at Sega of America. In an interview with Sega-16, Fischer claimed to have heard that SEGA is working on a remake of Sonic CD, one of the most acclaimed games in the franchise as well as where Amy Rose and Metal Sonic were first introduced.

“I’ve heard that they’re remaking Sonic CD, which would be wonderful. That was my favorite Sonic game,”

While Fischer has not worked at SEGA for quite some time, it would not be too surprising if the company is indeed working on a Sonic CD remake. Amy Rose and Metal Sonic will both be featured heavily in the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 4 film, and a remake of their debut game would be the perfect tie-in.
