An Official Taiwanese Dub For The Super Mario Bros. Super Show Has Been Discovered
After many decades since its original premiere, an official Chinese dub for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show has been discovered in Taiwan.
The discovery was made by retro developer Dave Flynn, who documented what he has found on the VHS cassette he found in Taiwan. Prior to Flynn’s discovery, there wasn’t much material on the Taiwanese dub of the show, but now we know it exists.
According to Flynn, he found the VHS tape at a recycling center a few years ago. It also appears that the Taiwanese dub has never made it to DVD or even the Internet, making it a very rare collectible item. The names used to refer to Mario and Bowser in the Chinese dub are different from what Nintendo calls those characters in Chinese today.
