Eiji Aonuma, series producer of The Legend of Zelda, has shared some comments on the next Legend of Zelda game.

Aonuma said there’s a possibility the next Zelda game coming after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release on Nintendo Switch. As to what the next game is about or when it’ll release, Aonuma shared no details about it.

The producer also added Breath of the Wild has yet to fully use every new feature that’s on Nintendo Switch. The next game after Breath of the Wild might pay more attention to that.

We’re most likely 5 to 6 years away from playing the next Legend of Zelda game, which Nintendo should be working on right now. In the past, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was released on both GameCube and Wii, followed by Breath of the Wild on both Wii U and Nintendo Switch.

History might repeat itself in the future, with the Switch and its successor having access to the future Legend of Zelda game.
