Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that Diablo III Eternal Collection will include amiibo support on Nintendo Switch.

As to what amiibo will unlock or do in Diablo III Eternal Collection, more details will be revealed during PAX West 2018. We speculate The Legend of Zelda amiibo might unlock certain gear in the game.
