Donkey Kong Country Developers Share Tributes For The Game’s 25th Anniversary
Yesterday, gamers across the globe celebrated the 25th anniversary of Donkey Kong Country – a classic SNES game that revitalized the DK franchise. As it turns out, it looks like its creators haven’t forgotten either!
Steve and Gregg Mayles, whom originally worked on Donkey Kong Country, have offered some artwork and interesting tidbits to commemorate the game’s birthday. While they haven’t touched many Nintendo properties for many years now, it’s still nice to see that they remember DK fondly.
It's 25 years since we released Donkey Kong Country. I felt compelled to draw something for the occasion! #WorldDonkeyKongDay pic.twitter.com/v7nAR5Ty1S

After I've passed away, my son will probably sell the "crap that dad kept in those boxes" on eBay. The #DKCArchive #10 cartridges might make him a few coins, but I'm not sure he'll get much for the pink wafers that are already 23 years out of date #WorldDonkeyKongDay #DKC25 pic.twitter.com/Hg3HQwS0vm

Read all about what a local paper had to say about #DKC. Pristine from the #DKCArchives #6, you can see @WinkySteve pretending to work while the boss look on and an impressively inaccurate plan of what @RareLtd HQ was to NOT look like 5 years later #WorldDonkeyKongDay #DKC25 pic.twitter.com/k88Nuvpwin
