Everspace Devs Confirm The Sequel Will Not Be Coming To Switch
Last month, Rockfish Games announced Everspace 2, the sequel to their award winning space roguelike Everspace.
Despite the fact that the original Everspace was released on Switch last year, the hybrid console was notably absent from the list of launch platforms for Everspace 2. Since then, the dev team has officially confirmed that there are absolutely no plans to have Everspace 2 come to Switch in any capacity. In response to a fan on Twitter, the devs explained that Everspace 2 is “more advanced” than the original and cannot run on the Switch’s hardware.
Our new game is technically much more advanced than the predecessor, so it won't run on current #NintendoSwitch hardware, but who knows what Nintendo will come up with in 2021!?

While this is unfortunate news, it is probably for the best that the developers were upfront about the matter as opposed to keeping quiet. Even though we won’t be seeing Everspace 2 on Switch, we wish Rockfish Games all the best with their new endeavor.
