EVO 2020 Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Concerns, Online Event Coming In Summer
The organizers of Evo 2020 have announced that the event will be cancelled due to concerns over the ongoing Coronavirus situation.
This news comes a few months after the Evo 2020 team said there were “no plans” to postpone or cancel the event, which was scheduled to run from 31 July to 1 August. It seems that in light of the Coronavirus continuing its spread across the world, the Evo team decided to move ahead with a cancellation for safety.
That said, it seems that disappointed fighting game fans aren’t going to be left with nothing. In the same announcement, the Evo team confirmed that an online version of the event was in the works for Summer, with more details to follow at a later date. We will be sure to bring further updates on the situation as they come.
