Last week, The Pokemon Company revealed Pokemon Winds and Waves, the next generation of Pokemon games slated for release in 2027.

The reveal trailer contained in-game footage of various places players will get to explore in its new unnamed region. Fans were quick conclude that the games were likely based on Southeast Asia, with prominent locations being compared to the Philippines, such as in the post below:

Past Pokemon games have drawn inspiration from a variety of real life countries and regions, such as Pokemon Scarlet And Violet being based on Spain, and Pokemon Sword And Shield being based on the UK. That said, developer Game Freak has yet to officially confirm this info so readers may wish to take it with a grain of salt.

If this assertion is true however, we will likely see more of the games’ Southeast Asian inspiration as more info comes out. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
