Fire Emblem Youtubers unite today to raise money for the Feed Nova Scotia charity.

Ghast from the Faerghast Youtube channel has organized a charity livestream to support increase food security in the Nova Scotia region of Canada.

The event features a variety of guests from YouTubers to voice actors who have been involved with the Fire Emblem franchise throughout the years. Events include speedruns of the game, Q&A sessions with voice actors, and Super Smash Bros.

Feed Nova Scotia seeks to increase food security through food distribution, education and collaboration according to their mission statement. COVID-19 has caused an increase in food demand so this food drive hopes to aid with that.

For those who may not be familiar with the term, food security refers to an economic and social condition of ready access to adequately nutritious and safe food. Unfortunately, many people aren’t food secure, many don’t know where their next meal is coming from and many depend on food banks for their food. The impact of food insecurity hits far beyond diet, but into mental and physical well-being, too.

In Nova Scotia, the province where I’m from, we rank among the highest food insecure provinces in the country. In fact 15.4% of people from where I’m from are affected by the condition. However, because of COVID-19, food banks have been relied on to assist individuals and families whose finances have been negatively affected. Food banks everywhere are being depended on a lot more because of the social and economic actions the world has taken to slow down the spread of the virus. I want to contribute and do my part to help access Nova Scotians to more food security. So me and a bunch of my friends have teamed up to create a charity stream called The Emblem Food Drive. a whole day long event dedicated to playing Fire Emblem and raising funds for a charity called Feed Nova Scotia – a registered charity which distributes almost 2 million kilograms of donated food to 141 food banks and meal programs across the province.

The first will be during Three Houses All-stars where you can donate money to determine whether we let Claude live. The second will determine which house the Speedrunners will play with in the 3H Speed Run. Please make a note for what you’d want your money to go towards when you donate.
