Former Nintendo Sales Rep Says Retailers Know “Nothing” About Switch 2 Price

Following its official reveal last month, rumors have continued to circulate about the Nintendo Switch 2, many of which revolve around the estimated price of the console.

These rumors specifically come from listings for the Switch 2 popping up on various retailers, which usually include some kind of placeholder pricing for the upcoming console. Some retail listings claim that the console will be more expensive than the original Switch, while others suggest it will be cheaper than expected. Analysts have also weighed in with their own estimates, leading to a great deal of speculation from fans.

In a recent interview with the Kit & Krysta Podcast, a former Nintendo sales lead chimed in to say that retailers are likely just as in the dark as consumers about the price of the Switch 2 right now. When asked by Kit about what retailers might know at this stage, the interviewee had this to say:

“Nothing, nothing…certainly not price, almost certainly not any kind of launch date other than maybe a quarter, it always makes me laugh to see these articles like ‘Walmart Canada says the price is going to be this’ Walmart Canada is the last people that are gonna know.”

All that said, we will likely only know the truth about the Switch 2’s pricing when Nintendo fully reveals the console during their April 2025 Direct. Stay tuned for all the updates as they come.
