Free To Play Games Won’t Require Nintendo Switch Online To Play Online
When September arrives, all Nintendo Switch owners who wish to play online will have to purchase a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
This requirement however, doesn’t seem to apply to free-to-play titles such as Paladins and Fortnite. While all games with online play come with a fine print telling users they need to purchase Switch Online on the eShop from September, free-to-play games lack that fine print.
Here’s the list of free-to-play games that won’t require a Switch Online subscription.
Paladins
Fortnite
Pokémon Quest
Dawn of the Breakers
Fallout Shelter
Galak-Z: Variant S
Zaccaria Pinball
The Pinball Arcade
Kitten Squad
Pinball FX3
And here’s the fine print:
“To use online services you must have access to a wireless internet connection. Some online services may not be available in all countries. From the full launch of the Nintendo Switch Online membership service in 2018, online play requires a paid membership.“
