Funko Wants To Work With Nintendo To Make Mario Funko Pop
During the New York Toy Fair, Newsweek secured an interview with Funko CEO Brian Mariotti to talk about their latest toys.
In the interview, Mariotti revealed Super Mario characters are the highest on their list of characters they want to make into Funko Pop. Funko is taking small steps in approaching Nintendo to make this become a reality.
Although Funko hasn’t secured any Nintendo IPs, they have started working together with The Pokemon Company for Pokemon Funko Pop and A Day with Pikachu by Funko. Mariotti said building a relationship with a company is very important for success, and they are off to a good start with The Pokemon Company.
Funko hopes to release four new Funko Pop Pokemon figures every year, and hinted more great figures are coming in the future.
