A new feature in Mario Kart World, called Rewind, lets you rewind time in order to undo mistakes.

How to rewind
To rewind, simply hold the down face button (on the Joy-Con 2 or Joy-Con), or the down on the D-Pad (on Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller or Nintendo Switch Pro Controller).
The game will keep rewinding as long as you hold down. However, there may be a limit to how much you can rewind.
Also, keep in mind that when you rewind, other players may overtake you.
Where can you rewind?
You can only rewind while playing alone in game modes such as Grand Prix, Knockout Tour, Free Roam, and Versus.
You cannot rewind while playing locally with friends or online.
What can you do with rewind?
You can only rewind to undo mistakes with that you make in the game, such as a failed wall ride or rail ride. You can also use it to dodge obstacles, such as a blue shell. In Free Roam, rewind is particularly helpful as you can return to your original place if you fall off the course, or when you want to practice some difficult shortcuts that make use of wall riding and rail riding.
