Over the course of this weekend, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet players will be challenging a 7 Star Tera Raid which features a Grass Tera Type Meowscarada with the Mightiest Mark.

This 7 Star Tera Raid gives out a great deal of useful rewards such as Vitamins, Rare Candies, Ability Patches, and most notably, Herba Mystica. This makes being able to complete the raid consistently extremely useful. Below you will find some quick tips and tricks for beating this Raid Battle, as discovered and shared by many members of the Pokemon community.

How To Unlock 7-Star Raids

In order to even participate in this raid battle, players will need to progress far enough in the game to qualify for 7-Star raids. This essentially means meeting the following requirements:

• Have completed the story and seen the end credits
• Have completed all Gym Rematches and the Academy Ace Tournament
• Have completed 10 or more raids rated 4* and above.

Once you have completed these steps, the 7-Star Raid will appear both in your overworld as well as on the Tera Raid board.

Meowscarada’s Ability and Moves

• The Tera Raid Meowscarada has a Grass Tera-Type, meaning that it does more damage with its Grass-Type, and Dark-Type moves.
• As a Grass Tera-Type, it is weak to Fire, Flying, Bug, Poison and Ice type attacks.
• Meowscarada’s Ability is Protean, which has no relevant effect in this Raid Battle.
• Meowscarada’s notable moves include the following:
  • Flower Trick ~ Grass-Type attack that always deals a critical hit.
  • Night Slash ~ Dark-Type attack that has a higher critical hit chance.
  • Acrobatics ~ Flying-Type attack.
  • Play Rough ~ Fairy-Type attack.
  • Hone Claws ~ Boosts the user’s Attack stat.
  • Petal Blizzard ~ Grass-Type attack.
• Meowscarada’s Battle Behaviour
  • Start ~ Meowscarada uses Hone Claws
  • 85% time remaining ~ Meowscarada resets the player Pokemon’s stat changes and status effects.
  • 75% HP / 80% Time ~ Meowscarada sets up its Tera Shield, uses Petal Blizzard, and resets its own negative stat changes and status effects.
  • 50% Time ~ Meowscarada uses Grassy Terrain, which boosts the power of Grass-Type moves and heals all Pokemon slightly each turn.
  • 40% HP ~ Meowscarada resets its own negative stat changes and status effects.

General Recommendations

• Avoid using Pokemon with a weakness to Grass, Dark, Flying and Fairy moves. Fainting in battle reduces the timer, and if it reaches zero before the raid boss is defeated, everyone will fail the raid battle.
• Use Level 100 Pokemon to maximize your chance of successfully completing the raid.
• Use Vitamins to maximize your Pokemon’s key stats to increase your chance of successfully completing the Raid.
• Use Cheers when necessary

• Fire/Psychic typing makes it resistant to most of Meowscarada’s moves after Terastalization.
• Ability Flash Fire makes it immune to Fire moves, causing them to boost the power of Armarouge’s own Fire moves instead.

  • Modest Nature to raise Sp.Atk
  • Max out Sp.Atk with Calcium
  • Max out Def with Iron
• Recommended Moves:
  • Acid Spray ~ Poison-Type attack that does damage while also reducing the opponent’s Sp.Defense
  • Lava Plume ~ Fire-Type attack that has a chance to burn the opponent.
  • Sunny Day ~ Sets up Sunny weather, which boosts the power of Fire-Type attacks.

  • Start by using Clear Smog to cancel out Meowscarada’s Hone Claws.

  • Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Armarouge is at near full HP before Terastalizing to a to a Fire-Type, then use Lava Plume repeatedly until Meowscarada faints. Switch to Acid Spray when Meowscarada resets its own stat changes.

• Fire/Ghost typing makes it to most of Meowscarada’s moves after Terastalization.
• Ability Flash Fire makes it immune to Fire moves, causing them to boost the power of Armarouge’s own Fire moves instead.

• Recommended Stat Spread
  • Adamant Nature to raise Atk
  • Max out Atk with Protein
  • Max out Def with Iron
• Recommended Moves:
  • Sunny Day ~ Sets up Sunny weather, which boosts the power of Fire-Type attacks.
  • Bitter Blade ~ Powerful Physical Fire-Type attack that can recover HP.
  • Swords Dance ~ Status move which sharply raises Ceruledge’s Attack stat.
  • Clear Smog ~ Resets the opponent’s stat changes.
• Recommended Items:
  • Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
• Strategy (Attacker)
  • Start by using Clear Smog to cancel out Meowscarada’s Hone Claws.
  • After Meowscarada resets your stats, use Swords Dance three times to max out Ceruledge’s Attack
  • Use Bitter Blade to deal damage and heal HP.
  • Once the Tera Orb is charged, ensure your Ceruledge is at near full HP before Terastalizing to a to a Fire-Type, then use Bitter Blade repeatedly until Meowscarada faints.

Skeledirge

• Fire/Ghost typing makes resistant to most of Meowscarada’s moves after Terastalization.
• Ability Unaware allows it to ignore all of Meowscarada’s stat changes.
• Recommended Stat Spread
  • Modest Nature.
  • Max out Sp.Atk stat with Calcium
  • Max out Def with Iron
• Recommended Moves:
  • Torch Song ~ Fire-Type special move that boosts the user’s Sp.Attack stat by one stage.
  • Flamethrower ~ Fire-Type special move.
  • Slack Off ~ Status move that heals the user’s HP by 50%.
  • Protect ~ Status move that prevents the user from being hit by the opponent’s move for one turn.
• Recommended Items:
  • Shell Bell ~ Recovers HP when attacking.
• Strategy (Solo Attacker)
  • Use Torch Song to charge your Tera Orb and boost your special attack stat.
  • When Meowscarada clears your stats and disables your ability, use Protect.
  • Once your Tera Orb is charged, Terastalize into a Fire-Type and use Torch Song or Flamethrower until Meowscarada faints.
  • Use Slack Off to recover HP if needed.

Heracross

• Bug/Fighting typing makes resistant to most of Meowscarada’s moves.
