Here Are A Few Items Not Returning To Mario Kart World
A few items that you know and love in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are sadly not making a return to Mario Kart World.
In this article, we will check out what these items are and explore the reasons why they may have been cut from the game.
1. Crazy Eight
Crazy Eight is an improvement over the Lucky Seven item that made its debut in Mario Kart 7.
It is an item that is rarely pulled as it gives you eight items to use – Banana, Green Shell, Red Shell, Bom-omb, Star, Mushroom, Blooper, and Coin.
All eight items will spin around the player’s kart after they get them from an item box. This means that it’s possible for someone to steal a star or mushroom from a player that obtained a Crazy Eight.
The reason why this item was cut is likely because of balancing reasons, and also the fact that the Crazy Eight item is heavily tied to the title of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Since Mario Kart World doesn’t have a number in its name, it doesn’t make sense to bring it into the game.
2. Piranha Plant
The Piranha Plant was a new item introduced in Mario Kart 8. It was a pretty unique item when it was first introduced. The Piranha Plant is capable of eating obstacles, items, and dealing damage to nearby players by biting them. The player will also get a mini speed boost whenever the Piranha Plant tries to eat something or bite someone.
This item was pretty useful at dealing damage to multiple players in cram and narrow spaces, and it looked pretty cool and unique (I mean, isn’t it cool to have a pet Piranha Plant biting others in a race?).
Aside from those two points, it wasn’t very useful as an item, which could possibly be the reason why it was cut from the game. It’s also worth mentioning that Piranha Plant is making its first debut as a playable obstacle character in Mario Kart World, which could have also led to the item getting cut.
