Download cards and Special Editions for both Pokemon Gold and Silver launched at Japanese retailers on September 22, 2017.

Famitsu Business has revealed 56,013 copies (both the download cards and Special Editions combined) were sold at launch, with a sell through rate between 80% to 100%. Other than this, we have no information on how the game sold on the eShop to customers who purchased directly from it.
