Japanese Fans Worry Over Animal Crossing: New Horizons As Pre-Orders Have Not Started Yet
In the last two weeks, many Japanese fans of the Animal Crossing series have been worrying over one thing – when will pre-orders begin for Animal Crossing: New Horizons in Japan?
Unlike most countries, Japanese retailers typically begin pre-orders for an upcoming game at a certain date and time after the publisher announces when it starts. But that hasn’t happened for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, even though we are 2 months away from its release date.
Some of these commentators are really worried because pre-orders for some games, like Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Pokemon Sword/Shield, started 4 to 5 months before their release date. However it’s also worth mentioning that pre-orders for Super Mario Maker 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild only began two months before their release date.
There are also speculations that pre-orders will kick off after the conclusion of an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct in the near future, and Nintendo might also announce a Nintendo Switch Lite bundle or other accessories styled after the game.
This is the first time we’ve seen Japanese fans anxious over a Nintendo Switch game’s pre-order starting date, which is understandable as Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the biggest games players have been looking forward to for years.
