Katana ZERO Free Update Officially Live On Switch, Fixes Save File Bug
Katana ZERO‘s first free update is officially live on Nintendo Switch, adding a bunch of new features and fixing a big bug.
To start off, two new modes were added to the game: Hardcore and Speedrun modes. Both modes make the following changes to your playthrough:
-Hard Mode: New enemies, revamped levels, reworked bosses, and all new challenges.
-Speedrun Mode: Stable enemy behavior, cutscene skipping, and expansive statistics.
Next, developer askiisoft confirmed that the Switch version’s save bug has now been fixed, although players should still be careful when playing Hardcore mode.
Information about the new update for Switch users.
-Your save files will work correctly now.
-If you already reset your save in the previous, premature release, use the cheat code in the next tweet to instantly beat the game and continue from where you left off.— Justin (@askiisoft) May 30, 2019
Lastly, in the Switch version only, there is a softlock in hardmode during the studio level if you play without "action only" selected. Until this is patched, I recommend selecting action only if you play hardmode, or bypass the softlock with the level selector.
