During The Game Awards 2022 pre-show, it was announced that Kirby And The Forgotten Land won Best Family Game for 2022.

The latest installment in the long-running platformer series beat out other major titles such as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Splatoon 3 to take the win. This was the only award that the game was up for this year, and its win is well-deserved after its positive reception and commercial success.
