Koei Tecmo: Over 3.5 Million Copies Of Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Shipped By The End Of December 2020
On 20 November 2020, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity debuted on Nintendo Switch – bringing player through some of the events preceding The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild. Well, it looks like the hack-and-slash adventure has been doing pretty well for itself!
In it’s latest investor’s relations report published this week, Koei Tecmo revealed that the series had already shipped over 3.5 million copies in total by the end of December 2020. On top of being impressive for a game that had only launched for one month at that time – this figure is also the highest yet for any game in the “Warriors” series overall, according to the publisher!
“Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (for Nintendo Switch): By the end of December, the total number of units shipped exceeded 3.5 million, the highest number for a single title in the “Musou” (“Warriors“) series.”
With such strong shipment figures so early on in the game’s life, we can probably expect to hear some robust sales numbers from Koei Tecmo soon. We’ll report back as we hear more in the future!
