London Police Arrest Man For Modding Nintendo Switch Consoles
The United Kingdom’s Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) recently arrested a 43 year old man at Lowestoft for modding Nintendo Switch consoles.
According to a report, the man was arrested and warned for copyright offenses. Hard drives, computer equipment, and microchips were seized at his residence. The police also used this opportunity to urge consumers to be wary of where they purchase their video game consoles from, and warned that devices giving users access to pirated content may expose them to “malware and identity crime”.
While Nintendo did not work with the police to arrest this mean, it’s speculated that the police caught wind of this man’s modding activities as he was selling modded Nintendo Switch consoles to the general public.
