Ever since the massive success of the Switch, many major game platforms have been trying their hand at a portable gaming console, including Valve’s Steam Deck and Sony’s Playstation Portal.

In an interview with IGN, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer seemed to hint that XBox may soon be entering the ring. After being directly questioned about the possibility of a handheld XBox, Spencer agreed saying “I think we should have a handheld.”. When further questioned, he said that this hypothetical handheld XBox would be more like the Steam Deck, being able to play games locally offline, which he felt was “really important”.

Of course, at the time of this writing, Microsoft and XBox have yet to officially reveal any plans for a handheld XBox. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
