Nintendo And The Pokemon Company File Lawsuit Against Palworld Creator Pocketpair

Earlier this year, Pocketpair released Palworld, an open-world monster collector RPG whose creatures bore striking resemblance to creatures from the Pokemon franchise. The comparisons were so strong, that The Pokemon Company issued a statement stating they were looking into the matter.

Now, months later, Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have announced they have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair for infringing on their patent rights in Japan. The lawsuit seeks injunction and compensation for damages caused by Palworld infringing on “multiple patent rights”.

The statement ends off with Nintendo stating they will “take necessary actions” to protect the “intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years”.

Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
