Nintendo Asks Users To Refrain From Using The Switch 2 Japanese-Language System When Abroad

A curious tweet from the official Nintendo Japanese customer service account has sparked questions over the Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language (Japan-Only) System.

In the tweet, the company asked customers to refrain from using the Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System when traveling abroad. However, the same advice didn’t apply to the Nintendo Switch 2 Multi-Language System, which is same as the system that is sold worldwide.

Users of the Multi-Language System were advised to use the console “in accordance with local laws” when traveling abroad, and to prepare an appropriate plug converter for their AC adapter.

A notice also stated that regardless of whether a Japanese-Language System or Multi-Language System is used abroad, the Japanese repair center will not offer repairs or service for any damages or issues occurring from its use overseas.

The difference in advice has brought about some concerns, as both systems are technically the same on the hardware level, and the only restriction that the Japanese-Language System has is the inability to use a non-Japanese Nintendo Account and Nintendo eShop.
