Nintendo Japan Will End Support For Wii U Repairs Once Current Parts Inventory Runs Out
Some dire news for Wii U owners living in Japan.
According to Nintendo Japan’s latest support page, the holding period for spare Wii U parts has passed, and Nintendo will be ending support for Wii U repairs once their current stock has run out. The ending of support applies to the main Wii U console as well as all other accessories it supports, such as the Gamepad.
Nintendo is unable to provide an estimate for when this will happen, and are recommending that interested players send their Wii Us in for servicing sooner rather than later. Repair services for the Wii U have already closed for the rest of the world, and it is likely that this will be the final nail in the coffin for the underappreciated console.
