Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa Comments On Palworld

Two weeks back, developer Pocket Pair released Palworld, a monster taming survival crafting game that took very heavy inspiration from popular Nintendo games, most notably Pokemon and The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of the Wild.

Palworld drew a significant amount of comparisons and criticisms online for the strong similarities its gameplay mechanics and creature designs had with the aforementioned games. During Nintendo’s latest financial results Q&A, the company’s president Shuntaro Furukawa reportedly responded to a question regarding Palworld. Furukawa did not name the game directly in his response, simply stating that Nintendo would take “appropriate action” against those who “infringe their intellectual property rights”.

Furukawa’s response echoes the official statement put out by The Pokemon Company, although neither company has officially announced legal action against Palworld or its developer PocketPair. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
