Nintendo Reportedly Issuing Refunds For Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Last week, Nintendo surprise dropped a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, meant to allow players on the new console to get access to enhanced framerates and graphics.
Unfortunately, it seems that not every player is having a good experience with the upgrade. Reports have surfaced that the paid upgrade does not actually improve the games visuals, and some believe it actually makes the game look and run even worse. Some have gone as far to ask Nintendo for a refund, with user tamodolo sharing how they were successful in receiving one and encouraging other dissatisfied fans to do the same:
Nintendo is refunding Xenoblade X upgrade patch

I just asked mine saying that the image quality of the upgraded version is worse than the original game (which is true).
They said that they normally don’t refund digital games but can do in this case after analysing the problem. (which they did in something like one and a half minute).
…
How you can do the same: at the end of Nintendo e-Shop website is a link called “contact us”. Click it and open a chat with an attendant. Tell you want to refund the upgrade patch because you have an issue with image quality. It’s worser than the original game. They will issue a refund to your Nintendo account in something like 5~10 minutes.
I encourage you all doing this to pass the message to Nintendo that this level of quality for something that is paid isn’t acceptable and they need to improve.
In light of these reports, players who were considering buying the upgrade may wish to hold off for the time being until any potential issues are addressed and fixed. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
