Nintendo Reportedly Takes Down Switch Emulator Ryujinx
Last year, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the Switch emulator Yuzu, eventually forcing them to take down and cease working on the project.
Now, it seems a second Switch emulator has been brought down due to Nintendo taking action. As reported by dataminer Oatmealdome, the Switch emulator Ryujinx has been taken down after the lead developer was seemingly contacted by Nintendo. According to a post on the Ryujinx discord, Nintendo offered the developer “an agreement” to stop working on the project and take down all relevant assets that he had control of.

Sure enough, the Github and Download pages for Ryujinx are now inaccessible, meaning that new visitors will no longer be able to get their hands on the emulator. Together with Yuzu, Ryujinx was one of the most popular and reiliable Switch emulators available to the public, presenting a massive setback for emulation.
Nintendo’s lawsuit against Yuzu eventually resulted in the creators TropicHaze having to fork out $2.4 million in damages in a settlement, so it is perhaps unsurprising that Ryujinx’s creator took it down before things got that far. Stay tuned for more updates should they become available.
