Nintendo has announced they are releasing “Nintendo Switch 2” editions of several popular Switch 1 titles.

A “Nintendo Switch 2” Edition is an enhanced Switch 1 game that can exclusively be played on the Switch 2. These enhanced editions typically include better graphics, higher frame rates, and occasionally bonus content or features. Players who own the Switch 1 versions of the games can “upgrade” to a Switch 2 Edition by purchasing an upgrade.

Nintendo Switch 2 Editions were confirmed for the following games:

• Super Mario Party Jamboree
• The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild (Free for Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers)
• The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of the Kingdom (Free for Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers)
• Kirby And the Forgotten Land
• Metroid Prime 4
• Pokemon Legends Z-A
