Nintendo Switch 2 Trademark In Indonesia Leads To Speculation That It Will Officially Launch There

Interesting news from Indonesia – it seems that Nintendo has officially applied for two Nintendo Switch 2 trademarks in the country.

The trademarks were applied in January 2025, days after the first Nintendo Switch 2 teaser. This has led to speculation that the company is planning to officially launch the Nintendo Switch 2 in the country.

News outlets and Indonesian gamers claim that the trademarks are a sign that the console will officially launch in the country, because the registrations were done by Nintendo Co, Ltd (the Japanese company). Although the Nintendo Switch hasn’t officially launched in Indonesia, a trademark was filed in the country by a third-party agent on Nintendo’s behalf in 2019.

In addition, the Switch 2 trademarks are images, whereas the original Switch trademark was just the console’s name in English.

At the time of writing, Nintendo has not announced any plans to officially launch Nintendo Switch 2 in Indonesia, and while the Nintendo Switch isn’t officially released there, it has been available for years through distributors and exporters in other Southeast Asian countries.
