Data from the Japanese Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch 2 has revealed some interesting details.

According to the recent releases page on the Japan eShop (ranked by units sold in the last 14 days) on June 12, 2025, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is the most downloaded Nintendo Switch 2 software, followed by Fortnite for Nintendo Switch 2 (a free download), and Mario Kart World in third place.

On the bestselling rankings (ranked by revenue in the last 3 days), Mario Kart World took the lead at No. 1, followed by Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour at No. 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack in third place. When physical games are excluded, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is the bestselling digital game on Switch 2.

The data clearly shows that many Nintendo Switch 2 owners in Japan are purchasing Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, so much so that it is the most downloaded title (even beating Fortnite, a free-to-play game) and ranking second in revenue. This means that the price of the game isn’t seen as a major problem, and its offerings are satisfying enough for players.
