Nintendo currently has a Nintendo Switch voucher program which allows Switch Online subscribers to purchase digital vouchers that can allow buyers to save money on up to two games.

Unfortunately, it seems these vouchers will not be carried over to the successor when it launches later this year. According to Nintendo’s updated FAQ page for the program, the Switch Game Vouchers can only be used for Switch 1 games, and cannot be used for Switch 2 games.

Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers are a special offer available to Nintendo Switch Online members that can be purchased in a set of two. Each individual voucher can be redeemed for a selected Nintendo Switch digital software title, presenting the opportunity to save on two games. Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

Presumably, Nintendo wishes to avoid selling Switch 2 games at a discount during the early years of the console, similar to launches of their previous console. Hopefully, an equivalent voucher system for the Switch 2 will eventually be introduced down the line.
