Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers To Be Discontinued In 2026

Nintendo has announced that they will be discontinuing the sale of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers in Japan.

The sale of these vouchers will end on January 31, 2026 11:59pm Japan time. Please note that the vouchers expire one year after they are purchased, so you must use them within 365 days. Currently, the company hasn’t announced whether the sale of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers will end in other regions, but considering the announcement in Japan, it is highly likely all other regions will follow suit.

Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers are exclusive vouchers that could be purchased exclusively by Nintendo Switch Online members. The vouchers come in a set of two for USD99.99 (in the US) and 9,980 yen (in Japan). One voucher can be used to redeem a first-party Nintendo Switch game of your choice. This means that using these vouchers can help someone save a considerable amount of money (for example, paying USD99.99 for two games worth USD120 in value).
