Following the announcement that Nintendo Switch Online Vouchers will be discontinued from January 2026, Japanese users have started showing their appreciation for the vouchers on social media.

This large wave of appreciation has caused the word, “カタログチケット” (catalog ticket), to become the 4th most trending topic on X (Twitter) in Japan. Many users thanked the vouchers as they have been using it as a way to obtain Nintendo Switch games at low prices, and many are crossing their fingers for a similar offer for Nintendo Switch 2 games in the future. Users have also been recommending each other to purchase game from the Xenoblade Chronicles series, as they can save up to 6,000 yen by purchasing two games.
