Official Splatoon 2 EU Tournament Site Excludes Dozens Of European Countries
This week, Nintendo of Europe announced an official Splatoon 2 tournament website that helps European players to join teams, find other teammates, and participate in online tournaments in their own countries.
However, there is a major flaw with the website – many countries that Nintendo of Europe serves are excluded from it. This means players living in Russia, Belgium, Austria, and many other countries couldn’t select their country on the website.
Many fans have expressed their displeasure on Twitter, which you can see below:
I'm from Belgium, interested in finding new teammates but only a select countries are in the list. Can more countries be added or should (for example) dutch speaking people choose for Netherlands? pic.twitter.com/VO8oPeIqqa

Why is there no option for Russia to enter?
We are a part of European region just as everyone else, and we do have players that are interested in competitive scene.
Let Russia participate.— rae 🔭🪐 ✨ (@Wervus) January 8, 2019

While Nintendo of Europe has not offered a fix for this problem, they recommend players who couldn’t find their country on the list to select the “Other European countries” option for now.
