Pikachu Joins Politics In South Korea
Today we have a very strange piece of news coming from South Korea, where elections are going to be held in 2020.
A political party in South Korea has been campaigning with two faces constituents probably wouldn’t expect to see – Pikachu and Winnie the Pooh. Both of these characters were spotted on the campaign trail with politicians campaigning in South Korea:
We would like to point out that the Pikachu mascot in the photo is a fake, so it is unlikely the political party requested permission for The Pokemon Company to use Pikachu for their political campaign.
This is how the Japanese reacted to the news:
“This is probably unauthorized (use of the IP).”
“The Pikachu and Pooh are definitely fake bootlegs… LOL”
“This is scary as hell.”
“They probably though it was a good idea since they (Pikachu and Pooh) are yellow”
