Pikmin Short Movies Being Removed From Wii U/3DS eShop In October 2020, Will Be Uploaded To YouTube Instead
Back in 2014, Nintendo released Pikmin Short Movies as purchasable episodes on the Wii U and 3DS eShop – as a means to promote Pikmin 3 at the time. Well, it looks like those fun shorts will soon be more publicly available in the near future!
Nintendo has released new notices on the eShop (seen below), indicating that the HD and 3D versions of the movies will be de-listed from 8 October 2020 onwards. Those who have purchased the movies previously will still be able to re-download them, but no further purchases will be possible after that date.
In turn, Nintendo will be uploading Pikmin Short Movies to its official YouTube channel, according to the notice. This means that pretty much anyone will be able to watch them for free!

There is nothing new on Nintendo 3DS eShop today (although some good RPGs are back on sale)… and something is being *taken away*! The Pikmin Short Movies 3D are being taken away next week and will be replaced by HD (but presumably 2D) versions on YouTube. pic.twitter.com/nexIJOyS4F

We’ll report back as those episodes become available online. Stay tuned!
