Pokemon Fangame Site Relic Castle Reportedly Taken Down Due To DMCA
Relic Castle, a forum site dedicated to Pokemon fangames, has been taken down.
This news was announced via the site’s official Twitter account, with the owners stating that they were forced to close the site due to a DMCA takedown notice. Attempting to visit the site now leads to a blank page repeating the Twitter announcement, although the message also reassures fans that it can still be dug up using the Wayback Machine if desired.

Although not explicitly stated, the DMCA was presumably sent by the Pokemon Company, as Relic Castle served as a repository for links to download many Pokemon fangames, which the Pokemon Company is infamous for taking down. Interestingly, the timing coincides with a recent interview with the Pokemon Company’s former chief legal officer, which reveals that they quietly monitor major fan projects and take action should they cross a line.
