Pokemon Gold/Silver 25th Anniversary Merch Being Resold For Almost 3 Times Original Price In Japan

Earlier this week, The Pokemon Company revealed a lineup of impressive merch for the 25th Anniversary of Pokemon Gold And Silver in Japan.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many of the lineup’s hot ticket items are already sold out, and have now surfaced on online being resold for almost three times their original price. The most coveted item, the Ho-Oh and Lugia jackets, are reportedly being resold at around 60,000 yen compared to their retail price of 22,000 yen.

This phenomenon has been met with heavy criticism from fans, as reported by Oricon news. Aside from complaints about the resellers themselves, criticism has also been levied at The Pokemon Company for not taking better measures to combat this issue. Some argue that The Pokemon Company should take action to stop resellers somehow, while others wish they would continue taking orders for the products, even if it may take a long time to arrive.
