Pokemon Sword/Shield Art Director Shares Tribute Artwork For Pokemon Colosseum
By now, Pokemon Sword/Shield art director James Turner should be no stranger to many folks – having contributed to many designs in the series’ latest games and beyond. Today, however, Turner shared something different that nostalgic Pokemon fans might find familiar!
Turner’s latest illustration features none other than Wes – the main protagonist of Pokemon Colosseum (2003) on the GameCube! Along with this, Turner also shared that Pokemon Colosseum was actually the first Pokemon game that he was involved with. You can find the full illustration below:

Later on in his career, Turner would actually go on to work on Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness – where he helped out with Shadow Lugia, various character designs and the game’s opening scene. This was confirmed in his conversations with some fans:
Yep, Mr. Hiromoto designed Wes, and almost all the human characters in Orre, but I helped out a little bit in XD. I decided the colours for almost all the main characters in XD I think, and designed a few minor characters. I helped design this big lad… pic.twitter.com/jUpCnxur3R
