Random: Check Out Squirdle, A Fanmade Pokemon Themed Wordle-Like
For the past few months, the puzzle game Wordle has taken the internet by storm, based on the surprisingly simple premise of guessing a five letter word with hints based on colored tiles.
Since Wordle‘s explosion in popularity, many similar games have cropped up with their own unique twists on the idea. One such game is Squirdle, a Pokemon themed version created by software developer Sergio Morales Esquivel (AKA Fireblend).
As opposed to revolving around letters, Squirdle tasks players to guess a Pokemon’s name with hints based around its Generation, Type(s), Height, and Weight, presenting a challenge much more appropriate for fans of the series. For those who find guessing one out of 898 monsters a bit too daunting, there is an option to restrict the answers to just the original 151.
Furthermore, Squirdle also allows players to share their attempts in emoji squares, similar to the original Wordle:
If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, the game came be played here, while Daily version can be found here.
