A few months back, we reported on how internet celebrity Logan Paul wore an extremely rare Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon Card to a Wrestlemania match, as a somewhat unorthodox but also unsurprising way of showing off his wealth as part of his persona.

Now, Logan Paul has placed himself and his card back in the spotlight again with a new video detailing the extreme lengths he went through to acquire the card. This includes a short segment explaining the history of the card, its status as the only known PSA Grade 10 version of the card, and of course, how he spent $5.3 million to purchase it.

At the end of the video, Paul also details his plans to turn the card into an NFT on July 9th, 2022, hosted on a platform he co-founded called Liquid Marketplace, which aims to “offer collectors the opportunity to co-own physical and digital assets through the power of tokenization”. Paul himself will own a 49% stake in the card, with the rest of it being available for purchase by interested parties.

What this means is that Paul will now be sharing ownership of the card with everyone who purchases part of the NFT. If he wants to wear it to more Wrestlemania matches, he will not be able to unless the other stakeholders vote to allow him to. Of course, given the “wild west” nature of the NFT space, how this idea of “collective ownership” will play out remains to be seen.
