It looks like western Switch owners won’t be missing out on this retro-style kung fu adventure by PiXEL!

Publisher Leoful has announced that it will be bringing Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist to Nintendo Switch in the west, later in 2022. This will be the first time the title will see a release outside of Japan – with more details and its English logo to be revealed later.

September 13, 2022 – Video game publisher Leoful is teaming up with Japanese indie developer PiXEL to bring 16-bit kung fu action game, Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist, to Nintendo Switch in the west in 2022.

Releasing outside Japan for the first time, Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist is a 16-bit kung fu action game that pays homage to kung fu games from the 80s and 90s. The game’s protagonist, Xiaomei, embarks on a journey to save her elder sister, Xiaoyin, from the influence of the Dark Dragon. The Nintendo Switch version of Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist has been enhanced with a new story mode featuring Xiaoyin, new characters, and other unlockable content.

With music by legendary former Namco composer Norio Nakagata (Zombie Nation, Genpei Tōma Den), sound effects by Hirofumi Murasaki (Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, Clockwork Knight), illustrations by Studio Vigor, and character voices by Suika, this is a game fans of nostalgic kung fu games shouldn’t miss.

Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist is set to launch in the west in 2022, with support for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The official English logo for the game, along with other details, will be published at a later date.
