Earlier this year, Nintendo announced they would be releasing a Switch 2 Edition for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, launching alongside a free update for the base game that will add new content for players on both consoles to enjoy.

According to insider NintenTalk, Nintendo is planning to hold another major news drop for the update sometime soon. NintenTalk claims that content creators will be invited to a hands-on session with the update in the coming days, with an embargo for December 16th 2025. NintenTalk also asserts that more new footage and gameplay details about the update will release on that day as well.
