Rumor: Nintendo Reportedly Planning A New Switch Model With Samsung OLED Display
Bloomberg has published a new report regarding a potential new model for the Nintendo Switch, possibly the “Pro” model that has been rumored about for many years.
According to Bloomberg, individuals “familiar with the plan” have claimed that Nintendo is planning to announce a new model of Switch later this year. This new model will reportedly come equipped with a “7-inch, 720p-resolution OLED display” manufactured by Samsung, and will support “4K ultra-high definition graphics when paired with TV”.
This report comes shortly after Nintendo’s President Shuntaro Furukawa said that the company was “not planning” to announce a new model of Switch “anytime soon”. Even so, with Sony and Microsoft having already launched their next generation of consoles, now seems like it would be as good of a time as any for Nintendo to release some sort of update to the Switch.
That said, as with all rumors of this nature, we caution readers to take them with a grain of salt. We will be sure to report back with more details as they come.
